Quick entry today.  I was out shooting cats for greeting cards yesterday. A friend of ours has a very fat cat.  Very fat is an underestimate to say the least.  All I wanted was a cat sitting in a chair with christmas lights around it.  Cats at best don’t do what you want, so shooting them takes a tremendous amount of patience.
In the end Julene held its head up and we got about 8 frames and then it was not fair to the cat to continue.  I’m posting the unretouched image with Julene’s hand in the shot. We will take that out and perhaps change the background.LightI simply used a strobe head into an umbrella aimed at the wall away from the cat.  The light bounced off the wall and gave us a soft light.  The lights themselves created a lot of the light source.CameraI used my 5D set at an ISO of 800 to give me a faster exposure for the cat. I shot a 5.6 aperture and 80 sec shutter speed.I will post in the following weeks the final image.  Cheers.
